Oceanic is a spacious powered mono hull, 24 metres in length motor vessel with sails. Under power we travel comfortably at 8-10 knots and with sail and power combined we can travel a few knots quicker. We carry 8000 litres of fresh water and 14,000 litres of fuel and have two tenders for exploring. We also have a desalination plant producing extra water 3000 litres a day. Built in 1992 in Fremantle, the Oceanic had a makeover in 2015 and 2016 and another more extensive refit in Christmas 2017, however she is no 5 star boat, nature provides the 5 star experience. Accommodation is basic, small and clean and the living areas/decks are modernised and functional. There are plenty of undercover areas with protection from the sun, a covered back deck and a shade sail on the front deck.
Your accommodation, meals and touring is all taken care of in one neat package. Our cruise includes all meals and of course we cook what we catch and our talented cook will endeavour to cook fish just the way you like it! Meals are varied with the emphasis on fresh, healthy Australian comfort food with good old fashioned favourites. We also have an Asian influence from Dan and Otis who are the back bone of our Ahoy Cafe and supplies and food for the Oceanic. We also cook the old fashioned comfort foods, muffins, chocolate brownies and a mean caramel slice and there is always a roast dinner and steak night on every cruise. We oversee all the food operations to ensure it is consistent, again we are not delivering 5 star food, however protein and fresh fruit and vegetables are plentiful.
On the back deck we utilise a large stainless steel barbecue for daily grilled selections. Our cook is happy to cater for any special dietary requirements. Whether your a beach camper or your staying on board most meals are served on board the Oceanic. Dependent on the time of arrival to our destination, beach campers will either swag on deck or beach camp when the tides are suitable sometimes we may have a barbeque on the beach and share some stories around the camp fire. Beach Campers have a a bush toilet on the beach and share the two bathrooms on board along with the other shared facility cabins. If you are beach camping (subject to tides) the crew will organise your swags on the beach at sunset when we arrive at our destination, the beach campers usually go ashore as well to get the lay of the land . Enjoy a drink whilst taking a refreshing spa on the main deck (8 person), all drinks are BYO. We supply juice, coffee and tea, water and power aid. We have indoor and outdoor alfresco eating areas and plenty of seating throughout the Oceanic. We aim to have big mobs of fun with a hands on experience – not a 5 star expense, but a 5 star, adventure packed holiday. No one will make your bed unless you do, you do your own dishes, lend a hand where you can, so you can tick this one off your bucket list early!
